Down and Out marks Erik’s second collaboration with director Matthew Mebane.

Erik has edited many feature films including Hotel California, House Broken, You Did What?, Animal, Come As You Are, Down With Love, Bring It On, and Desperado. Film-festival award-winning short films include Tackle Box, Raw, and Dirty Mary.

In the early ‘90s, Erik helped introduce one of the first computer-based editing systems, Lightworks, to the film industry. These systems have revolutionized the way editors cut today. In 1997, he received an Emmy for editing Joe, a Public Service Announcement for the American Heart Association.  He is one of 15 editors who authored the book Transitions - Voices on the Craft of Digital Editing.  Erik directed and is currently editing The Fright Gallery Presents – The Documentary.
